Problem Scenario:
Database back up failed with the below message prompt: The folder must be shared with full permission stating you unable proceed backup at client PC, only able to backup at Server PC.
Solution 1:
At server PC, go to drive that stored SQL folder> program files> Microsoft SQL Server> MSSQL>MSSQL> backup folder
Example if stored at C drive:
Right click on backup folder> Properties > Shared and give read and write access to everyone.
After done setting at server PC, go to client PC for backup.
Solution 2:
1) At Server PC > search for Services > Open
2) Check below 4 it’s running
- DNS Client
- Function Discovery Resource Publication
- SSDP Discovery
- UPnP Device Host
3) After done above, search Control Panel
4) Network and Sharing Center > change adapter settings > right click on the connected network > properties > tick for File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
Remarks:
For special PC like Windows server 2012 R2, after all the setting still unable backup can try go to CMD, run as administrator > type net stop server > enter, after show the server service was stopped successfully type net start server > enter, it will show the server service was started successfully
