QNE Delphi new client PC login prompted Unable to write to...config.ini

Scenario 

Server can operate QNE Delphi application just fine but other client PC encountered error “Unable to write to \\ServerNameOrIPAddress\QNE\config.ini” upon login

This is due to Folder or file sharing configured “READ” access only

Solution 

  1. Go to Server (Computer that acted as Hosting machine)
  2. Right click on the folder named “QNE” (By default is in C drive)
  3. Select properties then Go to tab “Sharing” and select “Advanced Sharing” button

  1. Select “Permissions” button


  1. Highlight ‘Everyone’ or the specific group for others client PC
  2. Tick Allow checkbox for ‘Full Control’

  1. Click OK button 2 times and click close
  2. Now your client PC can access QNE Delphi shared from Server machine
